Forty kilometers away from Bilbao, in the green neighbourhood of Oma, lies an enchanted forest known as Bosque Animado (the Animated Forest). Just imagine thousands of pine trees covered with colours and life, creating an enormous cloth that each visitor can compose endlessly playing with the perspective while walking.
Created in 1984 by the famous Bilbao artist Agustín Ibarrola, this project aimed to link the works of the ancestral Palaeolithic artists with the modern tendency known as land art, an artistic current that works directly over the natural landscape. Come and explore this magical forest. When you arrive, you will find that the landscape has become a huge canvass.
